Ingredients (serves 10):

  • 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon masala
  • 2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons of turmeric
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small chili
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 250g chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon chickpeas flour
  • 150ml coconut milk
  • 150ml water
  • 150g peas
  • 6 chicken breasts
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley to garnish


  • Heat the oil in a large deep pan (medium heat). Add the onion and garlic, chilli and sauté 1 minute. Add cumin, masala turmeric and curry powder and mix well, cooking for a further minute.
  • Place the chicken in the pan and season with salt.
  • Add the tomatoes, coconut milk and water.
  • Stir all the ingredients and cover the pan; simmer on a medium-low heat until chicken is cooked through – taking about 25-35 minutes.
  • Add green peas, a pinch of salt and chickpea flour and simmer, covering for an additional 10 minutes.
